Herts Roofing & Construction builds new decks and replaces old ones with Trex composite and pressure-treated wood, including railings and stairs. We are a Trex Pro contractor, we pull the permit, and we build on proper footings with the ledger bolted and flashed to the house.

Soft or cracked boards, loose or wobbly railings, stairs that move, rusted fasteners and rot at the posts or where the deck meets the house are safety problems, not just looks. The ledger board is where most old decks fail.
What we build
Pressure-treated wood costs less up front but needs regular sealing and staining. Composite like Trex costs more but does not need sanding or staining and holds up much better in shade and wet yards.
Either way, the structure underneath matters most. We never reuse a questionable ledger or undersized footings.
As a Trex Pro contractor we install Trex boards and railings to the manufacturer specs, and we handle the permit and inspections with your town. Book a free inspection.

In most New Jersey towns, yes. New decks and deck rebuilds almost always need a permit, and we handle the application and inspections.
It depends on the size and design, plus the time it takes the town to issue the permit. We give you a timeline in the estimate.
Only if the frame, footings and ledger are sound. We inspect the structure first and tell you honestly whether it is safe to reuse.
